Understanding staged vs. live changes
Every bulk change in BulkOps.ai goes through two states: staged (calculated and previewed, nothing written to Shopify yet) and live (applied to your real store). This two-step design is what lets you edit tens of thousands of products with confidence.
Staged changes
- BulkOps.ai calculates the new value for every matched product and shows an old → new preview.
- Nothing is written to Shopify. You can review counts, spot-check products, and adjust filters or the formula.
- Staged edits cost you nothing and can be discarded freely.
Going live
- When you click Apply, BulkOps.ai captures a snapshot, then writes the changes to Shopify as a bulk job.
- Progress is tracked, and the completed job appears in Change History where it can be rolled back.
Why it matters. Staging turns “I hope this is right” into “I can see it is right” — you confirm the exact impact before a single price or field changes on your live store.
Troubleshooting
My preview count looks too small. Your filters are narrower than expected, or products are missing required data (e.g. cost) and were skipped. Widen the filter or fix the data and re-stage.
I applied by mistake. Open Change History and restore the job — the pre-change snapshot puts everything back.
