How BulkOps backups work

3 min read

Two types of backups

BulkOps provides two complementary backup mechanisms:

1. Operation snapshots (all plans)

Every time you run a bulk edit, BulkOps captures a snapshot of the affected product fields *before* applying changes. This is what powers the Undo button.

  • • Captured automatically — no configuration needed
  • • Stored per-operation with a timestamp and description
  • • Retained for 30–180 days depending on your plan
  • • Can be used to restore individual products or all affected products
  • 2. Scheduled daily backups (paid plans)

In addition to per-operation snapshots, paid plans include a full daily backup of your entire product catalog:

  • • Runs every night at 2 AM in your store's timezone
  • • Captures all product fields: title, description, price, compare-at price, tags, metafields, inventory
  • • Retained for 30–180 days depending on your plan
  • • Downloadable as CSV

    Where data is stored

All backup data is stored on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in the US, encrypted at rest with AES-256. The same infrastructure Shopify uses.
